Laura Anderson, President & CEO
Laura Anderson, President and CEO of Aluminum Blanking Company, Inc., (ABCo) leads a 37 year old family owned business, which is recognized for its deep heritage as the first dedicated processor of aluminum sheet in North America.
Twenty-seven years ago, Laura first joined ABCo after years of leading aerospace engineering initiatives at Jet Propulsion Laboratory, Pasadena, CA. In 2004, Laura left ABCo, after serving as Vice President of Systems, Quality and Engineering. She then filled a succession of leadership positions at tier-one automotive suppliers in the areas of six-sigma process improvement, logistics, and large-scale SAP implementation in supply chain planning and manufacturing. Beginning in 2011, Laura founded a consulting firm that specialized in providing world-class Quality, Information Technology, Manufacturing, Supply Chain Planning, SAP Implementation, and JIT System Roll-Out Project Management and Advisory services.
Laura rejoined ABCo in 2014 as Executive Vice President of Operations, and was later promoted to President, CEO. She is very proud of the team at ABCo and the legacy they have built on quality processing of aluminum blanks serving both commercial and automotive markets.
Laura has been married for 32 years, with four adult children, the youngest two still in college. She attended University of Michigan, Ann Arbor receiving degrees in Aerospace Engineering and Physics.
Dan Jarackas, Chief Financial Officer
Dan Jarackas, CPA serves as the Chief Financial Officer at Aluminum Blanking Company, Inc. Mr. Jarackas is a former senior partner with the CPA firm Plante & Moran PLLC, and a graduate of the Wharton School of Business, Michigan State University and Best in Class Award from the Dale Carnegie Institute. Dan brings over 35 years of business, financial and tax experience in a variety of industries, including manufacturing, real estate, major highway and road construction, government and education. He has also authored training programs titled "The Profit Enhancement Process" and "How to Buy or sell a Business."
Dan has extensive experience in the preparation of strategic plans, financial forecasts, budgeting, operational metrics, cost controls and internal operating controls. He has a positive attitude that ultimately leads to common sense! He believes the team is the most important asset to a business and critical to success.
Mike Millis, Quality Director
Mike Millis serves as the Quality Director at Aluminum Blanking Company, Inc. where he brings over 30 years of business, quality and manufacturing experience.
As one of the founding members of the company, Mike has been instrumental in ensuring the company’s ongoing sustainability through overseeing quality and manufacturing certifications, including ISO 9001, ISO/TS 16949, and ISO 14001. Mike has also spearheaded more than a dozen Kaizen events for Aluminum Blanking Company, which has resulted in significant cost savings and has led to new business award opportunities.
Mike manages the company’s tensile testing, yield reporting, lube level management services and has established clear lines of communication with customers across automotive, aerospace, marine, trucking and railcar market sectors. He has evaluated and implemented over a dozen of the company’s value added service offerings, which has resulted in new product offerings and heightened customer experience. Mike is married and has 3 young adult children.
Gary Lecznar, Director of Business Development
Gary Lecznar serves as the Director of Business Development at Aluminum Blanking Company, Inc.
Prior to ABCo, Gary was the Director of Business Development for Themo Vac, a metal fabrication and welding company based in Oxford, MI. providing support to the power, mining and armor industries. Gary has also held management, technical and sales roles at Yorozu and Alcoa, where he assisted company locations in Mexico, Japan, Thailand and the U.S.
Gary also held various roles at Alcan Aluminum and General Motors, including performing business development and metallurgical functions on products including sheet, extrusions, metal matrix composites and castings.
Gary holds a BS in Engineering Metallurgy from Western Michigan University and a MS from Central Michigan University. He is married and has an adult daughter recently graduated from college.
Chad Elliott, Operations Manager
Chad Elliott serves as the Operations Manager at Aluminum Blanking Company, Inc. where he is responsible for operational throughput, scheduling, plant supervision, material handling, pallet construction, custom packaging and scrap management for over 175,000 square feet of processing, warehousing and custom packaging space.
Chad has over 20 years’ experience in the manufacturing, automotive and commercial industries. He has overseen the processing of over a billion lbs. (450,000MT) of automotive blanks alone and has led the launch and implementation of a range of new equipment capabilities, which has allowed ABCo to offer its customers one of the broadest ranges of processing options (gauges, widths, lengths and weights) in the industry. Chad has conducted site assessments for nearly every aluminum mill in the United States, and often travels to China and Canada to support evolving customer requirements and initiate Kaizen events for Aluminum Blanking Company, which has resulted in significant cost savings and has led to new business award opportunities.
Chad also serves as the company’s in-house operations expert for evaluating the company’s value added service offerings. He has implemented over a dozen value-added services over his career, resulting in enhanced product offerings and heightened customer experience.
Chad is married with a teenage son and daughter.
Chris Brower, Director of Marketing & Strategic Planning
Chris D. Brower is the Director of Marketing & Strategic Planning at Aluminum Blanking Company (ABCo), where he is responsible for the design and implementation of the company’s strategy, marketing and evaluation of organic & inorganic growth opportunities, to further leverage the company’s deep heritage as the first dedicated processor of aluminum in North America.
Prior to ABCo, Chris was a Partner in consulting and the Managing Director of a $100M investment fund that invested in companies with global application. Chris’ work history spans international operations and management of cross-functional areas, including Finance, Operations, Sales and Marketing. Previously, Chris was a manager in KPMG’s Corporate Strategy / M&A consulting practice where he advised clients on go-to-market strategy implementation, supply chain sourcing, total landed cost initiatives, risk reduction and financial buy-side due-diligence. He led forecasting and quantitative customer satisfaction projects at J.D. Power and Associates, led new business development at a business unit of Capital One, and held operations roles with +100 staff at Chrysler. Chris has authored dozens of business strategy focused publications drawing from multi-sector and geographic experience working with manufacturers, private equity investors, dealers, startups, government and union officials and start-ups.
Chris has been named "Crain’s Detroit Business 40 Under 40" and "Oakland County Executive’s Elite 40 under 40." Chris is a long-standing board member of the Society of Automotive Analysts, a member of the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago – Business Leaders Roundtable, the University of Michigan’s REFRESH board, and a business mentor to local business accelerators. Chris has an MBA with distinction from the University of Michigan, Ross School of Business and graduated with honors in Economics from Albion College. He is married with three children.
